Diaspora-powered skills
Turn support from abroad into practical skills at home.
Help a family member, friend or community learner in Nigeria follow a structured pathway into Solar or Electrical skills.
Who this service is for
This service is designed for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, United States and around the world who want to help someone back home gain an employment-focused practical skill.
- Support a family member or friend.
- Help a learner in your community begin training.
- Discuss support for a small group or future community cohort.
How it works
1. Talk to us
Tell Acute Academy who you would like to support and which programme they are interested in.
2. Create the learner account
The learner registers using their own details and selects the correct country and programme.
3. Receive a reference
A unique payment reference and private payment instructions are issued through the learner dashboard and email.
4. Verify and begin
After payment is confirmed, the learner is enrolled and the applicable programme bundle or paid module is activated.
Nigeria programmes
Certified Solar Installer Programme
A structured pathway covering solar fundamentals, system design, installation, safety, testing and maintenance.
Electrical Installation Programme
Develop knowledge in electrical principles, wiring, protection, testing and safe installation practices.
Clear progress and accountability
The learner journey creates identifiable milestones: account registration, a unique payment reference, verified course access, module assessments and practical-training eligibility where applicable. Acute Academy can explain the learner’s current stage, subject to the learner’s consent and applicable data-protection requirements.
Our community purpose
Acute Academy CIC is a UK-registered Community Interest Company established to create community benefit through accessible skills development, structured learning and employment-focused pathways. Our Nigeria training is supported through Acute Academy’s local operating structure.
Important information
This is currently a learner-support enquiry service. Payments made toward a learner’s training are course payments and are not charitable donations. Acute Academy does not currently claim that these payments qualify for Gift Aid or tax relief.
Frequently asked questions
Can I support someone I already know?
Yes. The learner should create their own Acute Academy account so their identity, programme choice, payment reference and learning record remain accurate.
Can I support only one module?
Where Pay by Module is available, support may cover an eligible module. Full programme and module options are explained before payment.
Will I receive progress information?
We can confirm appropriate milestones when the learner has authorised us to share them. Academic records and personal information remain subject to privacy and data-protection requirements.
Is this a charitable donation?
No. Support arranged through this service is currently treated as payment toward a learner’s training, not as a charitable donation.
Start a conversation about supporting a learner.
Tell us who you would like to support and the programme they are considering. A course adviser will explain the next steps.
