Acute Academy wants its website, Moodle learning environment and student information to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use assistive technology.

Our accessibility aims

We aim to provide clear headings and language, keyboard-accessible navigation, meaningful link text, readable contrast, responsive layouts, alternative text for informative images and captions or alternatives for important audio-visual learning content where reasonably available.

Current limitations

Some older page-builder components, third-party video players, PDF or downloadable materials, Moodle plugins and externally supplied content may not yet meet every accessibility expectation. Some course images may have limited alternative text, and some videos may not yet contain complete captions or transcripts. We are reviewing these areas as content is updated.

Getting information in another format

If you need course or website information in an alternative format, such as accessible text, larger print, a transcript or a simplified explanation, email info@acute.academy. Tell us the page or material, the format you need and how to contact you. We will consider the request and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Reasonable adjustments for learning

Learners who require a reasonable adjustment for online learning, assessment or practical training should contact us before the relevant activity. We may need appropriate information to understand the adjustment while limiting the sensitive information collected.

Reporting an accessibility problem

Email info@acute.academy with the page address, a description of the problem, the device or assistive technology used where helpful, and the outcome you need. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two working days and provide an update or practical alternative within a reasonable period.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is reviewed during major content and platform updates. We prioritise barriers that prevent registration, payment-reference access, course participation, assessment or contact with Acute Academy.
