Refund, Cancellation and Transfer Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

This policy explains how to cancel a programme, request a refund, transfer to another programme or rearrange practical training. It forms part of the Acute Academy Terms and Conditions and does not reduce any statutory consumer right.

1. Before you pay

Please confirm the country, programme, fee, inclusions, delivery format and entry requirements before paying. Use the unique reference issued to your account. Contact info@acute.academy promptly if you select or pay for the wrong programme.

2. UK cooling-off rights

A UK consumer who purchases online will normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days after the contract is made. To cancel, send a clear statement to info@acute.academy before the period ends and include your name, programme and payment reference.

If you expressly ask us to begin a service during the 14-day period, we may make a lawful proportionate deduction for the service supplied before cancellation. Where digital content is supplied immediately, cancellation rights may be affected only where the legally required express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. We will not treat mere account creation as consent to waive a statutory right.

3. Nigeria and other learners

Before course access begins, a learner may request cancellation and a refund of programme fees received, less any unavoidable bank or currency charges that cannot reasonably be recovered. After access, training or fulfilment begins, any refund will take account of digital course access, teaching, assessments, administration, practical bookings and physical items already provided or committed.

This section does not limit rights under applicable Nigerian consumer or data-protection law.

4. Digital course access

Where a refund is approved after meaningful course access has begun, we may deduct a reasonable amount reflecting modules accessed, teaching delivered, assessments attempted and administration completed, where permitted by law. Access will normally end when a full refund is issued.

No refund is normally due for completed training, a downloaded or substantially consumed digital course, academic failure, non-attendance or a change of personal circumstances after the applicable cancellation period, except where required by law or agreed as a reasonable exception.

5. Practical training

To rearrange a practical session, contact us as early as possible and normally at least seven calendar days before the scheduled date. We will offer a reasonable alternative subject to capacity. Late cancellation or non-attendance may result in the loss of the session or a reasonable rebooking charge where venue, instructor or partner costs have already been incurred.

If Acute Academy or its approved training partner cancels a practical session, the learner will be offered a replacement date. If no reasonable replacement can be provided, the learner may request an appropriate refund for the undelivered part.

6. Toolkit and PPE

Where toolkit or PPE is included, the value may be deducted from a refund once items have been dispatched, collected, personalised, used or cannot reasonably be resupplied. This does not affect rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or unsuitable goods under applicable law. Return instructions must be followed before sending any item.

7. Programme transfers

A request to transfer to another Acute Academy programme must be made in writing and is subject to eligibility, availability, price difference and any training already delivered. An additional amount may be payable where the new programme costs more. Any credit where it costs less will be assessed reasonably in light of services and items already supplied.

8. How to request cancellation, refund or transfer

Email info@acute.academy with:

  • your full name and account email;
  • country and programme;
  • student number and payment reference;
  • payment date and amount;
  • the request and reason; and
  • supporting information where relevant.

Do not send passwords, one-time codes or full banking credentials. We may request safe evidence needed to match and return a payment.

9. Decisions and payment times

We aim to acknowledge a complete request within two working days and provide a decision within ten working days. An approved refund will normally be sent to the original payer or verified source account within ten working days after approval. Bank processing and international transfers may take longer.

10. Chargebacks and unresolved complaints

Please contact us first so that we can investigate. A dishonest or duplicate chargeback may result in account suspension while the matter is reviewed. This does not prevent a learner from using lawful bank, consumer-protection or court remedies.

11. Contact and responsible organisation

UK programme requests are handled by Acute Academy CIC, company 17327463. Nigeria programme requests are handled by Acute Renewable Technology Energy Ltd. Email: info@acute.academy.
